I GOT IT: Klean Kanteen Water Bottle

Normally, I would never post something about a water bottle. Who would? Well, the answer is me, but not normally. The reason for this post is because I would like to shout from the rooftops "I LOVE MY NEW WATER BOTTLE!",
but I have no rooftop to shout from upon.
Therefore, you may read this entry.

Check it!

It looks like a normal water bottle..... right?

Well, it pretty much is, except that it's environmentally friendly and good for you, unlike dreadful plastic! It's made from stainless steel, which is safe and doesn't require a yucky plastic coating that will wear off and you'll end up drinking it and getting cancer. It's super lightweight and doesn't sweat cold beverages. And it's the perfect size to take on the go, to the office, to the gym, to the dentist. I actually read about it in a magazine about 2 years ago and I wanted it so bad that I looked it up online, but the shipping was too expensive, so I didn't end up buying it. But lo and behold, I walked into Chapters today and there it was.... sitting on the display right in front of the main door.

Meant to be? Oh, yes.

Head to your local Chapters and be really great and get one too!
Or pay the ridiculous shipping online!

I'M DOING IT: Booty Camp

Tonight is my first session of Booty Camp.
I refer to it as Boot Camp,
'cause saying I'm going to Booty Camp makes me sound like a hooker.

I heard about it from an old friend of mine and signed up.
It's an across-Canada camp for women only,
and it's an hour workout 2 nights a week in the evening,
which is great for those of us who sleep through our alarms on a regular basis.
Not naming names....

This is the link for those interested.
http://www.bootycampfitness.com

This session is SOLD OUT, which is a good sign, right?
I'll try and post updates on how it is
(but we all know I'm terrible at posting on a regular basis).
Key word there is TRY.

I suspect I'll be mighty sore in the morning,
but as they say, it's a 'good sore.'

Pray for my muscles, please. How bad can it be tho
ugh?
Can't be worse than walking miles on end through New York City
for 7 days straight and contemplating amputating my feet and legs
and hiring someone to push me around in a wheelchair for the remainder of the trip.
Or can it?

Book Review - My Sister's Keeper

My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult
This book is ridiculous! But so so ultra ultra good.
I can't say anything else about it and ruin it; just go buy it and read it.
Those are your doctor's orders.

I give it a 4.5/5
NEED to see the movie now. Right now.

I am now currently reading The Glass Castle by Jeannette Wells for my book club.
Yes, I am 1/4 nerd.

The book is pretty intense so far, but I'm glad I was forced to read it.
More details later. Stay tuned....

I GOT IT: Digital Camera

Stop yelling at me! I did it! I finally got a camera!
A Canon Powershot SD780IS Digital Camera, to be exact.

For those that don't know, or don't care, I lost my former camera approximately 18 months ago. Tragic, yes. I still mourn that camera with it's huge screen and easy-to-use-ness. But tragedy is an opportunity for SHOPPING.
Hence, I went out and got myself a new camerino.

Bask in the glory of my new skinny-minny picture-taking apparatus!

My blog will soon be covered with pictures and photos and snapshots and videos!
Are you ready for it?

I'm not.

Book Reviews

Ok, so first of all..... I obviously haven't written anything in awhile. Statement = made.

Now to make it feel like we're in school again.
This is a quick book review of some books I've read lately and whether you need to read them or if you really shouldn't.

Testimony by Anita Shreve
Can you say GRAPHIC? There's pretty much no other word to describe this book. It was well written, a bit confusing at times, but I think that also made it interesting. Lots of time-shifting and different characters sharing their points of view. The reason I read it is because it's based at a private school, and who doesn't love a good private-school-sex-scandal? The basic premise of the book is that a student sex tape is found and publicized. It ruins the reputation of the school and opens a box of worms, leading to death, divorce, and the runination of many. I give it a 3/5. I would read another
Anita Shreve book, in the hopes that it was toned down a bit. As in.... less sex. Thought I'd never say that.

19 Minutes by Jodi Picoult
You already know it was good based on the fact that it was written by
Jodi Picoult, who I would definitely say is my favourite author at this point in time. This book takes you inside the mind of a killer; a high-school shooter; a victim; a child becoming a man. You don't ever think about the shooter's side of the story in incidents, like Columbine or the Virginia Tech massacre, but Jodi Picoult forces you to in 19 Minutes. It deserves a solid 4/5.

I just started reading
My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult, which I hear is a pretty intense book. I'm looking forward to getting into the depths of it; to that point where you can't put the book down. I also look forward to seeing the movie eventually. I really really hope I won't be disappointed.

Over and out.

I NEED IT: Desk Shelves

Love love love love love love love love love love love love love.
Such a great idea!

Might get kind of annoying at times,
but it would make for a hype wall.

Did you know....

A placebo button is a push-button that appears to do something, but actually has no effect. They exist to give the user an illusion of control. Many walk buttons at pedestrian crossings and door close buttons in elevators are placebo buttons.

Paper Cut-Outs

I so need to learn how to do this. Or not... cause there is no way I would ever be able to learn how to do this. But I can dream, right? Auyoma Hina is the artist behind these RIDONKULOUS cut-outs.

For realz?! I am using black paper next time I make snowflake cut-outs... which is all the time.
